We would like to update you on a significant change related to the supported operating systems that is coming with the next major OrCAD, Allegro, and Sigrity release in 2015. We know that 2015 seems a long way off, but this information is important as it may require an OS upgrade and possibly planning with your IT organization.
; N+ z. z# m1 H* |8 X! U. `Starting with the 17.0 release, all OrCAD, Allegro, and Sigrity products will only function on 64-bit operating systems.
g! j# T* F) z/ A/ ^% fThe only operating systems that will be supported with 17.0 release are:
$ Y$ |- P/ c3 `; M• Windows 7 64-bit
* u9 K' N }; J G: Y6 T• Windows 8 64-bit) Q+ B, s7 P$ Z5 k1 f, P Z
• Redhat Linux 64-bit (Allegro PCB Editor, PCB Router, PCB SI and Sigrity only)
: {2 S5 k1 X5 m+ D. X" r+ V• Susie Linux 64-bit (Allegro PCB Editor, PCB Router, PCB SI and Sigrity only)
. W( d( `1 r. S" LPlease note that Windows XP 64-bit and Windows Vista 64-bit will NOT supported. Also note that the 17.0 release will NOT install on a 32-bit operating system.
7 Z9 C7 [, k* m0 j! @The advantages of OrCAD, Allegro, and Sigrity products on a 64-bit operating system include improved performance on large designs when performing compute intensive tasks such as:9 Y- }" T: z, v, P& N/ K/ z
• DRC … especially full design batch DRC* b! z* @7 Z- @; d
• Large area fills and regeneration

' e2 h4 U% _- l l$ e; P• Large or detailed Signal Integrity / Power Integrity analysis simulations
) h* p0 y9 g: R• Large or detailed PSpice circuit analysis
