为了提供数据中心的数据传输性能，Alibaba, Cisco, Dell, Facebook, Google, HP, Huawei,Intel和Microsoft 一起发布了新一代互连总线 CXL（Compute Express Link）。

不知这是不是巧合，正好昨天NVIDIA发布并购Mellanox，Intel就发布了CXL总线。

CXL是一个基于PCIe Gen5的标准，旨在解决下一代产品中的缓存一致性和互连问题。UPI应用于Intel的CPU之间，解决不了CPU与其它芯片的连接问题（有的人肯定会想，PCIE不就可以么）。随着公司和业界扩展到采用GPU、FPGA和其它加速器，对更广泛和更快的互连的需求已经成为一个更大的行业主题。

对于已经加入CXL协会的成员公司已经可以使用来，目前还没有看到具体的相关内容，如果是按照PCIE5.0的要求来进行设计和分析的话，应该又会有一批材料、连接器以及设备需要更新。

协会与协会之间都是有江湖的，目前看到PCI-SIG和Gen-Z协会组织都有表示对CXL组织的欢迎以及支持，从某种意义上来讲，它们之间是没有竞争关系
